Why Choose Cameron’s

Ian’s Story
Cameron’s Scottish Market began its journey in the early 1950s, founded by brothers William and Frank Cameron, who brought the flavors of Scotland with them when they settled in Kearny, New Jersey. Their small butcher shop quickly became a gathering place for the growing Scottish community, offering a taste of home to those building new lives in America.
Among their customers was a young Ian McAndrew, who arrived from Scotland in 1969. Freshly emigrated and eager to learn, Ian was soon hired by the Camerons. Over the next decade, he mastered the craft of traditional butchery and embraced the heritage behind every cut and recipe. In 1982, Ian took the helm, purchasing the shop and carrying forward the Cameron family’s vision.
For Ian, Cameron’s was more than a business — it was a way of life. He raised his three children within its walls, passing down the foods, traditions, and pride of his homeland to the next generation.
As the community in Kearny shifted over time, Cameron’s Market found a new home in Brick, New Jersey, in 2000, where it thrived for more than 20 years. Today, Cameron’s continues that legacy in Bloomingdale, NJ — proudly serving authentic Scottish fare, just as we have for over half a century.
